How often to use a 3-5 day water fast

How to do a 3-5 day water fast, option 1:
1. Finish last meal on Sunday night
2. Fast all day Monday, Tuesday, and then break the fast on Wednesday night (72 hours total)

What about coffee???

How to do a 3-5 day water fast, option 2:
1. Fast mimicking or autophagy fasting on Monday
2. No food Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday
3. Break fast with a day of FMD or autophagy fasting on Friday

What to expect with water fasting:
The first day is a bit exciting, but by the end of it, things start to get not as fun. I suggest going to bed early.
Day 2 usually starts okay, but then gets harder as time goes on. Stick with it!!! Make sure to be checking your blood sugar with a glucose monitor 3x a day (or a ketomojo if you want to check ketones as well)
Day 3 has mixed results. It depends on how fat adapted you are.
Day 4 and 5 is usually when the magic happens. Ketones are up, and so is mental clarity and energy.

Prepare for the longer fast by pushing for 24 hour fasting the week before (one meal a day) and increasing good fat consumption.
Going into a long fast after eating junk can be done, but you might not feel so good.

How to break a fast:
NOT WITH MEAT
Break the fast with broth (bone broth, veggie broth) then some steamed veggies and probiotics (like komboocha, sauerkraut, kimchee, etc)
Meat can be reintroduced 24 hours later.

Remember to always check your blood sugar!!!!!!!
Don’t enter in to a longer fast without knowing your numbers. Eat a scoop of nut butter or half an avocado if blood sugar is getting to 45. Then check your bloos sugar again half an hour after eating. This should allow you to keep going.
If you’re feeling discomfort and your blood sugar is at 70, push through.
If it dips below 40, break your fast!!! This is not a “push through” moment.
Ketones: if you’re at 0.5, you’re in ketosis! If it gets up to 7.0, break your fast!!!

I’ve only ever seen two people (out of the 20,000 Resettres) get harmed. One was not checking her blood sugar. The other ignored the low readings and tried to push through.

Bone broth fasting:
Great for weight loss and leaky gut, but won’t get you quite the same detox/healing effects.
It’s good to lean in to a cup of bone broth if you have not done an extended fast before.
The ketabo shake is also wonderful. It’s meant to be the same as fast mimicking diet (low protein). It is made of organic dehydrated oil and tastes like birthday cake.

I’m NOT a fan of juice fasting because it doesn’t allow your blood sugar to get low enough.
