#GaneshNaik #SurajPatil #Kukshet #DahiHandi2019 Former Minister Ganesh Naik joined Janmashtami and dahi handi celebrations organized by NCP corporator Suraj Patil at Kukshet Nerul. The celebrations were organized under the banner of Jai Gajanan Mitra Mandal Dahikala Utsav at NMMC School Grounds. While team of govindas took turn to trying their luck at breaking the handi, the event also saw distribution of bags to students of the area.
Saturday's festival of Janmashtami which marks the birth of Lord Krishna was muted in scale as large public dahi handi events were called off or downsized first for Maharashtra floods and also because of the death of former Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley. However, street corner events went off as usual since ‘Krishna Janmashtami’ celebration is incomplete without Dahi Handi for devotees, it was organized in tune with sentiments of citizens, reiterated Ganesh Naik while speaking to NMTV.
Also present on the occasion were Mayor J D Sutar, former MP Sanjeev Naik, NCP Corporator Netra Shirke and local corporator Sujata Patil and Jayshree Thakur among others. Bureau report – NMTV News.
