Chesterfield County celebrated the graduation of seven adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities from its second, 16-week Growth Through Opportunity (GTO) Academy. GTO Academy provides adults of all ages living with autism, Down syndrome, cerebral palsy and other unique challenges an opportunity to gain valuable life skills and social experience. One of the academy’s goals is for each cadet to develop the knowledge, skills and abilities to earn employment upon completion of the program.
