At 23 years old, Ria Hope started The Lahlita Project in the hope of providing an accessible space to talk about sexuality for, but not limited to, people aged 17-35. Since the start of 2019 she has been hosting workshops and discussions across the Manchester area and at major UK-wide festivals. Ria hopes to use information on sexuality as a tool for radical social change and she places activism and equality at the forefront of her work, believing that the crux of many issues we face in the modern world stem from a lack of education on sexuality, connection and relationships.
Talk: Sexuality and the Lost Youth is an exploration of the current sexual climate in our society at present. We will be asking questions about how technology, education and pervasive social trends are influencing the younger generations and impacting their ability to connect with themselves as well as one another.
The Sex Lectures were hosted, curated and produced by Alison Pilling and Roger Bygott.
The event was held at The International Anthony Burgess Foundation in Manchester. Thursday 19th September 2019
