Boris Johnson labels MP who didn't dare to vote in 2016 referendum as ''the true voice of Scotland''

Boris Johnson labels MP who didn't dare to vote in 2016 referendum as ''the true voice of Scotland'' During "Super Saturday", in the House of Commons, UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson referred to Scottish Tory MP Kirstene Hair as ''the true voice of Scotland''.

Kirstene Hair is the Scottish Conservative MP who admitted she did not vote in the EU referendum because the decision was "very difficult". Kirstene Hair said she left the choice to "everyone else" and decided to go with the "will of the UK".

But she said she had thought Remain would ultimately win the referendum.

Ms Hair was elected as the Tory MP for Angus after overturning an SNP majority of more than 11,000 in June's general election.

During the "Super Saturday" debate, at the House of Commons, Kirstene Hair told MPs.

"I think it important that other voices from Scotland are asking Scottish MPs to vote for this deal, such as the National Farmers Union of Scotland, the Scottish Fishermen’s Federation, the Federation of Small Businesses, the Scottish Chambers of Commerce and the Scotch Whisky Association.

They all believe that it is best for industry, the economy and jobs. Scottish Conservatives will vote for this deal, and Scottish nationalists will once again vote for a no-deal Brexit".
