This Sirsasana video is for all either it is beginner, intermediate or an advanced practitioner. The only beginner needs the help of an expert while practising initially.
This headstand is different from others as it is practised by hanging on the ropes that will not create pressure on your head and you can stay for long in Sirsasana.
It can be practised in 2 ways. One in Baddha Konasana and another is by straightening the legs.
Practising Salamba Sirsasana in Baddha Konasana has a lot of therapeutic benefits as it cures the stomach problems and genetic problems.
Headstand also treats Hormonal Imbalance and Spine related problems.
Now, the point of curiosity is that, why Sirsasana is practised by hanging in Iyengar Yoga.
This is because the head does not touch the floor that prevents our cervical discs and nerves from irrelevant pressure. Hanging Sirsasana makes the posture perfect and one can stay in the pose for a long time.
Patients with Epilepsy, Migraine and Hypertension are advised not to do this asana. But with supports, Sirsasana can be performed by the person with the above diseases.
This way of Sirsasana or Headstand is practised at our Therapeutic yoga -centre in Jaipur, India.
