Welcome to the town of wellington wells, where all the men are polite, all the women are good looking and all the children are.....well.......I simply can't remember, better pop a joy! We Happy Few is a survival based, pseudo immersive sim with a heavy emphasis on social stealth, resource and stat management and fight or flight gameplay. In the town of wellington wells, the locals forget the horrors of their past through the use of a designer drug called joy. The local government heavily enforces total social conformity in the community as well as mandatory use of the pill that gives you euphoria, helps you forget your worries, and keeps you complacent. The main protagonist, Arthur, decides he has had enough of this oppressive society and goes on an adventure to escape the city, meanwhile uncovering the horrifying secrets to the cities past.
This game had me intrigued with its unique concept, its art style and its themes. Though once I discovered it was a survival game my passions cooled a bit. Having had a chance to play through the game it has its pluses and minuses, however I thought the story was thoroughly engrossing. Join me as I play though "We Happy Few" on the Xbox One.
