Follow my narrated tutorial to create a DETECTIVE PIKACHU from POKEMON Cake Decoration. This cake decoration was made for the new pokemon movie, but take the hat off and it can be used as a regular pikachu. You can also check out my other pokemon characters I've made. This freestanding figure is made with edible gum paste and makes a great cake topper. I use gum paste in my instructional videos but modeling paste, sugar paste, or even fondant can be used. I do lot of work for kids so I only use lollipop sticks and dry spaghetti, so nobody gets hurt biting into a toothpick. You can also use my instructions to create items with polymer clay or any sculpting clay like sculpey or fimo.
ABOUT ME
I'm a cake baker that decided to make YouTube videos showing step-by-step instructions on HOW TO MAKE cake decorations yourself. I have not had any formal training in making cakes or decorations. I did not go to a culinary school. I have never worked in a bakery. Everything I do is done, right here in my own kitchen. I am simply self-taught. I 'm just a regular person that really enjoys making cakes & cake decorations, and I love to see the excitement on people's faces when they see my cakes. FOCUS ON THE CAKE DECORATIONS
I've learned that beautiful sculpted cakes are very impressive, but they are also not something everyone can do or afford.
This is why I like to focus on cake decorations. Cake decorations are the first impression when you first see a cake. They create excitement and give the WOW factor that people remember and talk about. I want to teach everyone that you do not need a bakery, or expensive specially tools to create that excitement. I use a handful of basic tools and the show the right cake decorations can totally change the impression of even a store bought cake.
THE TRICKS
Making cake decorations really isn’t hard if you can see how they are made. I walk you through all the steps and even teach you a few tricks I have learned over the years. Sometimes while editing I think of things I should have done, and give suggestions on how to make them even nicer.
My cake decorations are made with gum paste are are completely edible. I make a lot of kids favorites like superheros, video game and cartoon characters, but I also make decorations for retirement parties, baby showers, weddings, and more. Pretty much anything can be made!
