Special Inspector Robbie Boyle was violently assaulted and pushed into the road in front of moving traffic after responding to an incident in Colchester High Street. His colleague, Special Constable Toby Romani, was punched while trying to protect him.
A man was jailed for six years in July for the unprovoked attack on Sunday 13 January.
We are now able to release CCTV footage following the final conclusion of the investigation into the incident.
