In order to know how much time you should be practicing guitar, you need to know what your primary goal is, and that goal will change once it is achieved.

Ear training, scale knowledge, technique and rhythm control, are skills that can be involved in your goal. Those things will guide your practice time planning.

Ideally, you want to spend five minutes in each skill. In this case, we listed four skills so a 20 minutes practice session should be the sweet spot for this goal.

Twenty minutes of focused daily practice is infinitely better than a single two-hour session.
