Spiritual care is about addressing people’s deepest needs and values when these are challenged by illness. Spiritual care is an important part of nursing, but one for which nurses and healthcare professional often feel least prepared. Spiritual care education developed from research by Professor Linda Ross at USW will equip nurses with a better understanding of the importance of spirituality for health and wellbeing, so that they feel more competent and confident to address patients’ spiritual concerns, so promoting holistic health.
