For the latest news across Belize, visit: The Commissioner of Police says that the police will be cracking down on establishments that sell liquor, particularly the nightclubs. According to Chester Williams, the crackdown is to ensure that that these businesses are in compliance with the law when it comes to their liquor license. On Tuesday, the police officers made a check at a popular nightclub in Ladyville but they have their license displayed. As a result, the proprietor of the business was detained and his stock of liquor was taken into police custody. Williams says that they later found out that the problem was because the liquor licensing board’s printer wasn’t working. The ComPol made it clear that that reason is concerning.
