Irrespective of the reality, theoretically politicians work for the people, they represent the political aspirations and ideology of the British people, the people they represent.
With your little X, you hand your authority and personal power to the party you are voting for and that is where it ends.
All your vote paper is, is you handing a non-breathing entity, the tory “party” or whatever, your personal authority to take responsibility for the governance of our nation and any part of your life they want too.
You hand the politicians noting, just the party, there is no legal or lawful contract or responsibility between the politicians you, no breach of contract or whatever because you do not sign any contract with the politicians only the party.
It’s a legal con trick, because this “parties” membership and leadership have no power before you vote for them, that are just people with ideas, not special people, just people with the ability to use words in such a manner that you believe they have more authority over you than you.
Your authority over you is what politicians are competing over, its got little to do with ideology or philosophical political eutopias, its about you being persuaded to give your personal authority over you to a political party.
The fact that the employees of that party, politicians, have no contract with these parties they represent means that can run to another party whenever they want and not be in breach of any contract just a traitor to the party that once played a part in.
It’s a very complex con trick, but a con trick none the less.
