After a recent interview with French President Macron by the British magazine The Economist, in which Macron diagnosed NATO with brain death, the issue of the meaning of NATO’s existence became relevant in the West again. Moreover, on Saturday, Jürgen Trittin, a German Bundestag deputy, wrote the following in his article for Der Spiegel: "In the 70th year of its existence, the alliance is rather a shadow of itself. NATO is experiencing an existential crisis."
