'I (genuinely) dispute that!': AA Management Pty Limited

'I (genuinely) dispute that!': AA Management Pty Limited Today we consider a complex (and, as the court found, bitter) dispute between family members and related entities.

One piece of litigation between the parties settled on the basis that consortium of family companies would pay one son $950K, and contemplated the sale of a property at some length.

The property was not sold and the money was not paid to the son.

The son issued statutory demands to the "non-paying" companies. If a company receives such a demand, it must either (i) pay or, (ii) get it set aside by the Court - or risk being wound up.

Today, we hear about how the companies got the demands set aside on the basis of a "genuine dispute".

I hope this discussion has value for you.
