Doug Ford's Bill 124 Violates the Charter Rights of Workers

Doug Ford's Bill 124 Violates the Charter Rights of Workers Yesterday, Doug Ford's Ontario Progressive Conservatives passed bill 124 ( Protecting a Sustainable Public Sector for Future Generations Act). This bill effectively removes the right to bargain collectively from Ontario Public Sector workers, whether unionized or not.

While Andrea Horwath and the Ontario NDP will oppose this bill, and while unions like CUPE, the Ontario Federation of Labour, and the Ontario Teachers unions will challenge this unconstitutional bill 124 in court, it will take all of us to protest this attack on the Charter of Rights and Freedoms because Doug Ford has proven he's willing to use the notwithstanding clause to override Charter rights
