Jiu Jitsu sucks! Well, you know what I mean. The gentle art, huh? In some ways, yes! Studies show that you are no more likely to be injured in BJJ than in any other "typical" recreational sport. Among the martial arts, BJJ has among the lowest injury incidence rates of them all. So I guess it is the gentle art.
BUT understanding why we hurt and that BJJ pain is a multifactorial experience can be useful when unpacking your own pain and getting back on the mat to train with less pain.
