The Democrats have moved on from Bernie Sanders and it took Saturday Night Live to chisel the epitaph into the gravestone of his political career. Despite having inspired a generation of poorly informed young people that socialism is cool, the powers that be have chosen that Elizabeth Warren is a far better messenger for a watered-down version than the 77-year-old true believer.
A new season of NBC’s flagship Democrat propaganda program “Saturday Night Live” kicked off this weekend and in addition to their normal target President Trump, the raving kook from Vermont was parodied in a skit that shows that his party has moved on and driven the clown car right over him.
During a skit of a Democrat debate, Comrade Bernie was skewered and mocked as a cranky, out of touch old man who despite his dreams of leading a socialist revolution in America, has now become a parody of himself.
Bernie’s character was played by comic and Seinfield creator Larry David who skewered Sanders like old goat being roasted on a spit.
Comedian Larry David reprised his role of Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) on the season premiere of “Saturday Night Live,” portraying the Democratic presidential candidate during a CNN town hall.
“Hello everyone, I’m so excited to be back and ruin things a second time,” David’s Sanders says in his opening comments.
When asked by an audience member if he has the patience to see the impeachment process through, he responds: “Patience? Don’t talk to me about patience. It takes me 40 minutes to figure out how to turn on the TV. Every single time. If I accidentally hit input, that’s a whole day.
“Sometimes, I sit on the porch and do literally nothing for six hours,” he added. “I don’t talk to people. I don’t look at stuff. I just sit so still people get scared and call 911. And not for the ambulance, for the coroner.”
In his closing remarks, David’s Sanders says: “America, here is my promise to you: Free college, free health care, free refills on any medium size soft drink.”
“Last time, my slogan was ‘Feel the Bern,’ ” he added. “This time, it’s ‘Let’s burn this place to the ground.’ “
Given the events of the last week with Democrats and Trump, it was a slam dunk that SNL was going to sell impeachment as hard as possible and that’s exactly transpired.
It’s ironic that the focus for this season is on impeachment with the obligatory overload of references to Watergate – no mention of Bill Clinton – and some may point out that the show hasn’t really been very funny since Richard M. Nixon was still alive.
In the age of the left’s hyper-politicized dominance of late-night television, one of the worst examples of the collective anti-Trump hive mind is on NBC’s flagship SNL which has become an extended version of Orwell’s the two-minutes hate.
Not has the show not actually been funny in years, but like the rest of “hate night” television which is now dominated by mean-spirited, foul-mouthed DNC shills like the two Jimmys, Colbert, Maher, Bee and their ilk, has only fed the irrational hatred towards a legitimately elected president and the 63 million Americans who cast their votes for him.
SNL has gotten so bad that original cast member Chevy Chase recently blasted the show as having the “worst f—ing humor in the world” which is quite a damning statement for those who can call what the show puts out as humor.
