2019Q3 GNC Earnings Report Recap | Consumed Ep.58

The "Consumed" series is my take on CPG news that I find interesting throughout the week. My goal is to add commentary, dive deeper, or bring more context to topics that often do not get covered by the traditional media outlets.

Ep.58 covers GNC 2019Q3 earning report that was released on 10/24/19. In this video, I breakdown how the store closures are ramping up and that GNC could close up to 50% of their mall locations. The struggles continued with GNC in 2019 with domestic sales, but the slump also hit international growth as well, with the slow moving Harbin Pharmaceutical joint venture continuing to drag down the international sales. I also talk about the private label revenue and how GNC is no longer only wanting to be a specialty retailer but a global brand. I also cover some cash flows and how GNC is doing on servicing their debt.
