The first international declaration setting out universal principles for judicial training was adopted in November 2017 by the International Organisation for Judicial Training (IOJT). Thanks to this major act, the training of judges and prosecutors now benefits from international standards to enhance its contribution to the rule of law. The ten articles set out common principles for training in order to guarantee the competence, independence and impartiality of the judiciary, whatever the different judicial systems, recruitment procedures and training methods.
