At this time, the temple complex (including One Pillar Pagoda and the new temple) is called Dien Huu with the meaning of "long lasting blessing".
Not outside the rule of time, through many dynasties, many historical events in the temple have many changes. From the Ly, Tran, Le and later Nguyen dynasties, the pagoda was restored and repaired many times. Therefore, the cultural and architectural features in each period also change.
Especially in 1954, the French colonists destroyed One Pillar Pagoda. All the old architecture of the pagoda was lost, leaving only a pillar under Linh Chieu lake and some wooden beams. Immediately after that, the temple was repaired by the Government. Up to now, despite a few more renovations, the pagoda still bears the typical features of the old architecture.

The Asian Record Organization has confirmed the One Pillar Pagoda as "The most unique temple in Asia" in 2012. Ancient temple roof tiles, cleverly designed curved sword shape covered with dragons flanking the moon - also known as "Mesmerizing adoration" with extremely delicate patterns. In temple architecture from ancient times to the present, dragons are an indispensable symbol.
This is a symbol of the divine authority and bold human values, reflecting the desire and intellect of man.
To go to the temple to burn incense, worship you will have to step through a small step of 13 steps made of bricks. On the stairs, there are stone steles that briefly introduce the history of the temple.
Inside the temple, there is a statue of Quan Am Buddha with sophisticated and sharp decoration. The Buddha image is designed to mimic the dream of the ancient King Ly Thai Tong - Quan Am Buddha sitting on a shining lotus flower, shining with aura ... Around the temple is Linh Chieu lake surrounded by low brick walls.
In the lotus pond, the four seasons radiate aromatic fragrance.

In addition to the unique architectural features, One Pillar Pagoda is also the pinnacle of Eastern philosophy. Many researchers believe that the temple space is built in harmony between the philosophy of yin and yang. The pagoda was built in square shape to symbolize the sound.
