According to Capital One, most of the stolen data comes from credit card applications and includes 122,000 Social Security numbers and 77,000 bank account numbers. The stolen data also includes personal and financial information such as home addresses, credit scores, contact information (including email addresses) and dates of birth. Federal authorities have arrested a Seattle tech worker, Paige Thompson, 33, who they say is responsible for the breach. Thompson has been charged with computer fraud and abuse. Capital One says "we believe it is unlikely that the information was used for fraud or disseminated by this individual."
