hi I'm Mike dimming with Sportsman's
Warehouse and today we're here to do
some hardcore broadhead testing we're
gonna test for penetration as well as
durability and we picked two of the most
popular fixed blade broadheads as well
as two of the most popular expandable
broadheads today we're gonna beat some
stuff up stick around we're going to
test for penetration at 25 yards by
shooting through stacked pieces of
quarter-inch plywood we have 20 pieces
of plywood here that are 24 inches wide
by 12 inches high we have them sandwich
between cinder blocks and a straw bale
backstop for safety this gives us 5
total inches of plywood to penetrate
once we shoot all the broadheads for
penetration we're going to take our
cinder blocks and turn them sideways and
shoot them to check for durability we
suspect that the error was going to be
the weak link here but it's still going
to hit that block pretty hard to see how
well those chisel points and the body of
these broadheads stay together for fixed
blade broadheads we're shooting the g5
strikers which is a hunter drain
broadhead and has three fixed blades and
a cutting diameter of one and 1/8 inches
they're packaged claims that they have a
tensile strength of a hundred and
seventy-five thousand psi and are 320
percent stronger than other broadheads
on the market
thus electric Viper tricks model is the
next fixed blade we're putting to the
test it is a four blade broad hedge
which needs to be put together when you
purchase them this is a hundred drained
broad head and has two large and two
small cutting edges giving you a
combined cutting edge of one in 1516
inches the large blade is one in 16
inches which is the largest diameter and
the smaller blade provides seven eighths
of an inch for expandable broadheads
we're going to do our raids Taipan as
well as our new archery products
Spitfire double cross the rage tripod
has two large blades that fully deploy
upon entry which gives you a huge two
inches of cutting surface this Hunter
drain expandable bra did is titanium and
tough and ready for battle the new
archery product Spitfire double cross is
a front deploying expandable broadhead
and has four total blades and it
combined three inches of cutting surface
your large blade gives you a 1
seven agents cutting diameter as with
others it's a hundred green broadhead
we're going to shoot these broad heads
attached to an Easton bloodline arrow in
330 spine we're going to shoot them out
of a quest thrive bow set at 29 inches
of drawling and shooting this 400 green
arrow and a broad head set up downrange
right at 289 feet per second so let's
see how they're going to perform in this
penetration test
first up the g5 striker
right so this is the g5 striker we've
got one two three four five six went
through a total of six boards stuck out
here and did penetrate the seventh board
here and they're pretty stuck on there
so that's not gonna come off real easy
here brawn it's still in really good
shape function just fine
next up slick trick Viper trick
all right this is a slick trick Viper
trick it we got one two three four five
pretty deep into the six and just barely
touched the other one really great shape
on that broad head and very similar
penetration now for the expandables and
first up is the rage tripan
all right this is the rage type man we
got here we got one two three four five
six total boards went through and just
barely touching the seventh this being
an expandable bra head you can see here
in the back that it opened way up there
definitely got that two inches you talk
about okay we've got a good broad head
here still intact and penetrated really
well last up to the plate is the new
archery product Spitfire double cross
all right and last but not least we got
the split fire double cross we got one
two three four five so we went through a
total of five and into number six now
for the torture test to see if these
broadheads can handle being shot into a
cinderblock this is the g5 striker
