Social Democratic Party leader Mette Frederiksen casted her vote in the 2019 general election, at a polling station in Copenhagen on Wednesday.
Speaking to journalists outside the polling station, Frederiksen stated, "I hope, of course, that [we will get] not just the approval of our new government but also of a new policy. That is why my statement is during last hours: if you want to be sure to get a new government you should cast your vote for Social Democrats."
Polls are suggesting Frederiksen's party to dominate the elections, setting her on course to become Denmark's youngest prime minister at 41. Frederiksen's rise has been mainly attributed to her adoption of traditionally far-right anti-immigration policies.
