Gustafsson: Smith bout will be ‘a war,’ both look to overcome Jones loss | Ariel Helwani’s MMA Show

Alexander Gustafsson joins Ariel Helwani’s MMA Show to talk about his upcoming bout against Anthony Smith at UFC Fight Night on ESPN+ June 1 at 1:00 p.m. ET. He shares what it’s like to fight at home in Sweden and why he’s chosen to fight more often throughout the year. Gustafsson looks back on his opponent Anthony Smith’s prior bout, in which he fell to Jon Jones at UFC 235. But Gustafsson doesn’t believe that Smith “was himself” in that loss as in past fights he drove through his opponents “like a train.” Lastly, Gustafsson talks about training leading up to June 1 and how he’s been preparing for Smith while recovering from a groin injury.
